Cookies Policy
Last updated 8 September 2026
This cookies policy explains how Fallen Marches uses cookies and similar browser storage on our website and in our game, and what choices you have.
It should be read together with our privacy notice, which explains what personal data we collect about you and how we use it.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that a website asks your browser to store on your device. It holds information that your browser then sends back to that website on later requests, which is how a website can recognise the same browser from one visit to the next.
Websites also use other kinds of browser storage, such as local storage. That works in a similar way, except the information stays on your device and is not sent back to the website with every request. We use a small amount of it, and we describe it in paragraph 4.
We use cookies only where they are necessary to run our website and our game. We do not use cookies to build a profile of you, to show you advertising, or to follow you across other websites.
2. The cookie we use
We use one cookie. It is a strictly necessary cookie: it is what keeps you signed in, and our sign-in system cannot work without it. It is set only when you sign in, so if you browse our website without signing in, we set no cookies at all.
| Cookie title | Purpose | More information |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in cookietl_refresh | Keeps you signed in. When you sign in, we place a sign-in token in this cookie. Your browser sends it back only when the game asks us for a new access token, which is what lets you carry on playing, and return to the game, without typing your password again. The cookie expires 7 days after you sign in, or 30 days if you tick the option to keep you signed in. Signing out deletes it, and so does deleting your account. | The cookie is httpOnly, so scripts running on the page cannot read it; signed, so a tampered cookie is rejected; restricted to our sign-in addresses, so it is not sent with ordinary website or game traffic; and marked Secure, so it travels only over an encrypted connection. See data security in our privacy notice. |
Because this cookie is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for, we do not need your consent to set it, and we do not show a cookie banner.
3. The cookies we do not use
Other cookie policies commonly describe the categories below. We use none of them:
- Analytical or performance cookies. These recognise and count visitors and record how they move around a website, so that its owner can see how it is used. We do not use them. Our servers do keep their own logs of the requests made to them, which we explain in our privacy notice, but those logs are not created by cookies and they do not follow you to other websites.
- Functionality cookies. These recognise you when you return to a website and remember your preferences, such as your language or region. We do not use them. Your game settings are saved to your account on our servers, so they follow you to any device you sign in on, rather than being stored in a cookie.
- Targeting or advertising cookies. These record your visit, the pages you have viewed and the links you have followed, and are used to make advertising more relevant to you, often by sharing that record with advertising networks. We do not use them. We show no advertising, and we do not share information about you with advertising networks.
If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary.
4. Other browser storage we use
Our website and the game keep a small amount of information in your browser's local storage. This is not a cookie. It is never sent to our servers, and it stays on your device until you clear it.
| Item | Purpose | More information |
|---|---|---|
| Sound settingsterraluna-menu-muted, terraluna-menu-volume | Remembers whether you have muted the music on our website, and how loud you have set it, so that your choice is kept the next time you visit. | Stored on your device only. They record nothing but whether the music is on or off, and a volume level. |
| Local characterterraluna-inventory, terraluna-progress, terraluna-bank, terraluna-avatar | Used only when the game is opened without a signed-in account. That happens when we run the game on a development machine, and it can happen if our sign-in service cannot be reached in the moment the game loads. The character played in that state belongs to the device rather than to an account, so it is kept here. This is not how the game is meant to be played, and it is not your account character. While you are signed in, your character is held on our servers and nothing about it is written to your device. | Stored on your device only. Clearing your browser's site data removes it, along with anything held only there. |
We do not keep your sign-in details in local storage. The access token the game uses to talk to our servers is held in the page's memory and is gone as soon as you close the tab, which means a script injected into a page has nothing to steal.
5. Third-party cookies
We do not use any third-party cookies, and no other company sets a cookie through our website or our game.
Our website and the game are served entirely from our own servers. We embed no advertising networks, no analytics services, no social media buttons and no third-party fonts, so there is nothing on our pages that would let another company set a cookie or see your visit.
We do not share the information collected by our cookie with any third parties.
Our website and the game may include links to other websites. If you follow one, that website may set its own cookies, which we do not control. We encourage you to read the cookies policy of every website you visit.
6. Your choices about cookies
Because we set only the strictly necessary cookie described in paragraph 2, there is nothing here for you to switch off, and no consent to give or withdraw.
You can still block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse cookies, delete cookies that are already stored, and warn you when a cookie is set; the controls are usually under Settings, then Privacy or Security.
Our website and the game will still load if you block cookies, but you will not be able to stay signed in: you will be signed out as soon as your access token expires, and you will have to enter your email address and password again each time you return.
You can clear the browser storage described in paragraph 4 by clearing site data for fallenmarches.com. Doing so does not affect your account or your character, both of which are held on our servers.
7. Changes to this policy
We keep this cookies policy under regular review. This version was last updated on 8 September 2026 and replaces any earlier version.
